It's like a finger pointing to the moon.

Stood looking at the Ka'aba and people coming back and forth for 20/30 minutes. Doing nothing except wondering about it all and where it leaves me having completed my latest Umrah. I don't feel any different, I haven't changed. Well I'm a little wider but that's thanks to the junk food. That'll all go again when I'm back in the UK and eating proper food. My hair will grow back and I'll finally shave as well. My tan will fade too. That then will leave no outward sign that I've done anything religious or anything at all for that matter.

In this worldly life it leaves me in much the same position as it did before my trip - well with a slightly lighter wallet. If you believe in the afterlife as I do, well this trip leaves me in a much better position - I hope.

I know some of you are groaning and rolling your eyes. You may even be shaking your head in sympathy for someone you consider to be a poor deluded fool. That doesn't bother me.

At the end of the day, if you're right, no harm done, I've just wasted my time and money.

If I'm right, I've done a very good deed which will reflect on me on the other side.

Each to his own I guess.

Time for Esha prayers now.
